Both had wins in the NSW Hill Climb event and the circuit race in the afternoon Aisbett has been in great form since a break from the sport, and has been unbeaten in recent events, her state hill climb championship coming on the back of a win in the NSW Elite women's Criterium Championship a fortnight ago. Aisbett defeated Canberra climber Judith May and Bathurst surprise packet Jodie Martin in the dash up the Mountain. Aisbett extended her lead in the overall weekend points score by defeating Junior World Champ Amanda Spratt, last year's winner Kate Nichols, Tiffany Cromwell (SA) and Elizabeth Hickey (ACT). Meanwhile, Shaun Higgerson and the MG X-Power Bigpond Team took control of the men's events, Higgerson taking the King of Mt Panorama title with the fastest time of the day in the Under 23 Championship, defeating NSWIS/FD Jeux.com development riders Sam Lee and Richard Moffatt. The Elite men's title went to strong man Peter McDonald of Colnago-Caravello. Higgerson then escaped with team mate Troy Glennan and five other strong cyclists in the in the Criterium, and with the help of the MG XPower boys back in the bunch, the seven-man group fought out the finish. Higgerson took the win from NSWIS's Mitch Pearson, Caravello's Anthony Challinor, Dean Windsor (Bathurst), Michael Tolhurst (ACT) and NSWIS/FDJeux's Richard Moffatt. On Sunday the in-form MG XPower rider made it a clean sweep for the weekend with his third win for the weekend after taking out the Blayney to Bathurst Classic. He won a closely contested spring to the line to complete a very successful weekend personally and race organisers. Amanda Spratt won the 'Bathurst Subaru' womens on wheels 2 day tour after finishing second to Kate Nichols last year . Spratt sealed her win with a mighty climb on the mountain dirt section to break clear of main challengers Leonie Aisbett and Kate Nichols in the final tough road race stage.
