The race, a handicap over 60klm, proved a great race with almost 30 riders hitting the line as one. Winner Ian Leighton, who has not raced for several months, held on to narrowly defeat fast finishing Andrew McDonald. With the Lumley General Insurance National Titles to be held next month, a lot of local riders are showing some great form and should be very prominent in their respective events. Entries close next weekend for the National Titles and also for the club's major feature race, the Commonwealth Bank-sponsored Longford-Campbell Town. This race in its 8th year will have prizemoney in excess of $1100 and outright placings will be paid back to 12th place, with fastest and 2nd fastest times, over 60 and 1st unplaced lady.
