Rob, Peter - but pay Paull

New member Craig Paull continued to impress with another ride-away win of the Illawarra Cycle Club 37 kilometre handicap race on Sunday.

Paull rolled across the line with Rob Calladine in second place and Daniel Silveri took third place over a minute behind.

Early race leaders Kerry Auguston and Brian Nobbs rode well together after dispatching their limit group one by one.

The three minute bunch of six riders stayed together swapping off turns well as were the six minute group until they lost Covington and Stephenson due to punctures.

The eight minute block bunch was only just losing time to the scratch group of Graham Rutter, Brett Townsend, Peter Jones and Mark Wall.

Paull attacked his bunch on the second lap with ten kilometres to go before being joined by Rob Calladine.

The pair were leading on the road by the turn-around at Marshall Mount and used their time trial ability to hold over a minute gap over the chasers for a deserved victory in a time of 57:41.

Peter Jones rode the fastest time of 56:12

Next week's race is a 37 kilometre feature race with group 6 providing marshals.
