Observations by Peter Winton
- Fine weather, about 33 degrees with an easterly breeze impacting on riders
from the 3.5km mark till the 6.5km mark (8km course), although better than
a southerly but not as advantageous as a northerly.
- Errol Schmidt demonstrating his distance prowess, likewise with Peter Mulhearn
as he also is nearing his peak for the Forster Ironman.
- Arthur Anderson brought out the new carbon Bianchi for a gallop, very nice
lines.
- Peter Doody sat up once he realised he'd recorded a PB.
- Peter Winton gave up once he realised he couldn't achieve a PB (37:04, never
to be repeated!)
- Richard Hale excelled by slashing 40 seconds from his former PB.
- Time trials are not funny so I can't make light of much but suffice to say,
you had to be there to grasp the meaning of anything. Did I hear someone say
that it is easier when you reach 50? Can't wait for 2006 to arrive as I'll
be more mature then.
