Handicap no problem for new members

New club members Craig Paull and James Thorton convincingly took first and second places in the Caesar's Illawarra Cycle Club 27 kilometer handicap race last Sunday.

Slipping under the handicapper's guard, the pair won by almost three minutes, although nothing should be taken away from the pair's ride in the hot and humid conditions.

Emma Ringer used her sprinter's legs in the final few hundred metres to kick away from chase bunch and take third from new member Kerry Auguston. Fastest time of the day was taken by Daniel Silveri.

The numbers were down as many riders were racing in the Canberra Tour. Luke Dale came 7th and Gavin Drury 15th in C-grade, Adrian Cooper 13th in D-grade in what is regarded by manay as one of the toughest races under very hot conditions.

Next week's race is a 27 kilometer scratch race with group 2 marshalling.
