The first being the perfect weather conditions and the second being local triathlete Evarne Reese riding an excellent race in a strong field of 28 competitors to take line honours over locals Tina Parkinson and fast finishing youngster, Shane Dennis. . The impressive field of 28 riders was made up of 8 Whyalla and 20 Port Lincoln riders with local, Martin Sheridan recording the fastest time of 1hour24min33sec. The sprints proved to be a winner for the ladies with Silvia Dansie taking out the first sprint at Sleaford and Evarne Reese taking out the second and third sprints respectively. The racing concluded with a dinner and presentation at the Hotel Boston on the Saturday evening, with the Whyalla Club expressing their thanks to the Peninsula Pedaller members for their assistance provided during the course of the race and to local sponsors ANZ Bank and Cluster Cycles for putting up prizes for the event.
