Tom Danielson had a stellar first half of 2003, winning the Tour de Langkawi and dominating US domestic races along with Saturn team-mates Nathan O'Neill and Chris Horner. Although he managed to defend his Mt Washington hill-climb title the second half of his season was limited by injury, and with the ending of the Saturn team Tom has high hopes for a Europe-based 2004 with Fassa Bortolo.

2003 promises to be a very interesting year in the life of this talented young rider, who admits he only really became aware of his potential last year after a couple of years of casual success in collegiate mountain bike racing. With a new coach, Rick Crawford, new team and far more serious attitude, Tom could be a force to be reckoned with. However, the road to success is not always a smooth one, and there are bound to be highs and setbacks along the way.
