87th Tour de France - Grand Tour

France, July 1 - 23, 2000

Report & Results   Previous Stage    Next stage

Stage 20 - July 22: Belfort - Troyes, 254.5 km

Start time: 11:11
Estimated finish time: 17:10

The Tour is not quite over with the longest stage occurring today, from Belfort to Troyes. With the end in sight, many will just be biding their time in the peloton but some will see it as their last chance. At least there is some gradual descending involved.

The odds are that it will be a similar stage to Thursday's long haul from Lausanne to Fribourg, where a non-GC threatening break will gain huge amounts of time on a tired peloton. The sprinters, although sharpening themselves up for tomorrow's Champs Elysees finish, may wish to test themselves today into Troyes.

Difficulties

Km 109.5 - Côte de Chagnon - 2.4 km climb at 4.3% (Cat. 4)
Km 157.5 - Côte de Chaumont - 1.7 km climb at 3.6% (Cat. 4)
Km 170.0 - Côte d'Alun - 2.1 km climb at 4.7% (Cat. 4)
