The Puerto de las Pedrizas (category 3) is the highest point, at 780 metres but it is unlikely to do more than shake out some of the weaker riders, considering its position near the start of the stage. The finishing town of Córdoba is in the centre of Andalusia and is bordered by mountains in the north, and rich countryside in the south. The people are quite diverse as a result of the differing landscapes and neighbouring towns, and the architecture of the city has been shaped by several cultures and religions.
