Track Championships World Track ChampionshipsThe World Track Championships ran for five days from October 25-29. Once again they were in Manchester this year, where track guru, Nick Rosenthal was on hand to capture some of the action. The following photos are from Nick and Agence France Presse. Japan CupThe 1.3 Japan Cup is one of the major one day races in Japan, coming at the tail end of the road season. This year, it was held in wet, miserable conditions that saw only 28 finishers. Lampre were 1-2-3. The majority of the following pics were taken by Nagako Furusawa
World Road ChampionshipsThe World Road Championships were held in Plouay, France this year from October 10-15. Despite some fairly ordinary weather, there was of course some great racing. An extensive photo gallery of the World's is available here. Amherst CyclocrossHeld on the campus of the University of Massachussetts, USA, the Amherst Cyclocross was given a UCI Cat. 3 ranking this year. 49th Herald Sun TourOne of Australia's oldest running stage races is the Herald Sun Tour, which has grown in status to a 2.4 class event. The following were taken by John Doggett-Williams:

Olympic GamesThe Olympic Games dominated the latter part of September as Sydney virtually closed down for two weeks to host the World's best athletes. Being in "our own backyard" as it were, the Games provided more than a few photo opportunities. Univest Grand PrixHeld on September 16, the Univest Grand Prix is also unofficially called the "Amateur Championship of the USA". Jonathan McElvery and Douglas Sheppard supplied the following pictures.
