• The fans for the 2006 Athens Twilight Criterium started to hang out very early, well before Twilight.
• Vassili Davidenko (Navigators) looked very calm and relaxed before the start.
• There were several nervous faces in the Pro field with just minutes before the race
• Jeff Hopkins (Jittery Joe's) started well back in the field and eventually finished an excellent 3rd place considering how tough it is to move up in position in this race.
• JJ Haedo (Toyota-United) was ready to go and instead of just thinking it, he kept saying "Vai, Vai." He was the race favourite but ended up in 2nd place well behind Davidenko.
• Race winner Vassili Davidenko gets mobbed by the press
• Alex Candelario (Jelly Belly) showed no signs of any effort just minutes after the race after finishing 12th.
