  • Members of the Malaysian team train for the 2006 Commonwealth Games at the track in Melbourne. Malaysia's top medal hope Josiah Ng was absent from training due to an illness, according to their Australian coach Lyn Dixon.
  • Lyn "mother of two" Nixon encourages the riders of the Malaysian cycling team. Nixon is almost as small and lean as the elite athletes she's coaching but her ambitions are even stronger. Just three months after taking control of the Malaysian cycling team competing at the Commonwealth Games, Nixon and assistant coach John Beazley, another Australian, believe their charges are heading places fast.
  • Greg Henderson (New Zealand) is one of his country's strongest medal hopes - the former world points race champion has also had a successful career on the road in the USA.
  • Members of the New Zealand men's pursuit team practice on the velodrome. New Zealand is strongly tipped to medal in the team pursuit, but the final is expected to be between Australia and the UK.
