- A lot of people braved the hot and dry conditions
- The Le Mans start was crazy as usual
- Some people decided to dress up in very silly and hot clothing
- By lap two, the field had strung out around the whole course
- Some of the trickier sections had chicken lines. They were well used
- The suspension of some bikes was also well used
- Post fire sections gave a weird feel to the course
- Some sections started off rutted, and got worse
- A number of solo female entrants did the hard slog. Here is one in her natural environment
- Someone looks like she's having far too much fun
- Some teams took it very seriously, didn't they BA?
- And some teams saw fit to travel a large number of kilometers to race.
- A lot of people decided that a full suspension bike was their friend

- A creek crossing, without a creek. Its a drought you know.

- This little bridge saw a few casualties
- Once darkness fell, it wasn't so hot. But it was still dusty.

- Good lights were needed in the twisty bits
- Actually, good lights were needed in most places
