ESCA Meadowbank velodrome Track League

Bank of Scotland Scottish Commonwealth Games team member Richard Chapman came out on top in the tenth round of the Meadowbank Track League scoring a total of 9 points at the end of an excellent nights racing. Chapman took full points in the Devil and 12 lap scratch and score consistently in the Points Race and Team Sprint. The strong Trinidad team, making final preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh before moving to Manchester this coming week, were always amongst the points during the evening and it was sprinter Michael Phillips who finished second on the night on 6 points after winning the Keirin, in a blanket finish from Scottish sprint hope Marco Librizzi and team mate Elisha Greene, and coming second in the Team Sprint.

League leader Evan Oliphant only managed to score 4 points, however he extended his lead over Darren Howitt to 16 points. Ross Muir moved to the top of the table in the 'B' Season with a 5 point lead over Martin Lonie.

In the Womens League, Emily Forde again extended her lead over Kate Cullen while Junior rider Jane Leask narrowed the gap over Cullen in a closely contested league.

Chris Chester (Ferryhill Wh), working in Edinburgh at present, narrowed the gap on Stephen Robertson in the Junior league, while 13 year old Shane Charlton moved to the top of the Youth league, 1 points clear of Kevin Barclay. Only 6 points separate the top 6 riders in the Youth league which is likely to be hotly contested to the final week.
