Casper takes first season win

Frenchman Jimmy Casper (FDJeux.com) won the first half stage on day three of the Giro della Liguria. Casper sprinted to victory in Alassio at the end of the short 45.8 km leg, beating Elia Aggiano (Formaggi Pinzolo-Fiavè), and race leader Paolo Bossoni (Sidermec). The latter kept his lead in the general classification, but will have to try and defend it in this afternoon's 11.6 km mountain time trial from Varezza to Alpicella del Beigua.
