In ideal conditions Paul Turner and John Gregory put up fantastic times, with both riders averaging over 40km/h. Turner recorded the fastest time with a 19.16 ride to beat Gregory by only four seconds. Christine Neil also put in a top effort to win the handicap section and finish 2.37 under her age standard. She narrowly beat Wynyard's Eddie Summers, who also put in a great ride as he returns to racing after a lengthy layoff. Next race will be on Sunday 22nd May, with a Group Handicap starting at Longford at 10am; entries close at 9 45am. Duty members are Laurie Venn and John Walker.
