The Club selected a new circuit during the week as a test for next year and it proved to be well received by all. Arumpo road is a sealed section of a rural road leading motorists to the Willandra Lakes World heritage area, including Lake Mungo. Fine weather in Sunraysia, top temperature again in Victoria this week, could only extract 21 riders mainly due to the Grand Final of the Sunraysia Football League (Aussie Rules). However, Greg Scott, Brendan Liddle and Peter Winton made welcome returns to the cycling scene after many weeks on the sidelines recovering from injuries. The trio were happy with their form given their "underdone" condition, all managed to finish in their respective groups. Other highlights of the after race kind included the surprise announcement by Mark Busch of his intention to rack his bike (again) and succumb to the responsibilities of parenting. Today's fields were organised into A, B, C and D grades with the latter two combining due to a small field.
