Jon Cantwell confirmed his pre-race favourite tag with a last second sprint to beat Jeff Harris and Steve Rooney after these three attacked with 10 minutes remaining in the A Grade race.

The 25 strong field was split many times during the hour but the last move was the decisive one and the three worked well to ensure the bunch never regained contact. Harris was commited to lead out the sprint but the in-form Cantwell took the honours.
