Grace dominated the finals of the men's sprint, winning in two straight races over Canterbury's Adam Stewart at the ILT Velodrome tonight. The upset came in the semifinal when Stewart claim a spot in the final voer national kilo record holder and brilliant junior Eddie Dawkins who bowed out in the deciding third race in front of his home crowd. Earlier Natasha Hansen proved too strong for fellow Cantabrian and national representative Jos Rastrick in the finals of the women's sprint, winning in two straight races. World Champion Paula Tesoriero (Wellington), who set a world record in Sydney earlier this month in the AWD competition, followed yesterday's win in the sprint wih victory in the individual pursuit. And the Canterbury pair of Annalisa Farrell and Jane Parsons took out the AWD tandem gold medal. Auckland's Aaron Gate set a new national record in the final event of the second night of finals at the Lion Foundation New Zealand Track Cycling Championships in Invercargill tonight. Gate won the under 19 men's scratch race final recording a brilliant 9:25.163s for the 8km scratch race final at the ILT Velodrome.
