Eurobike 2002Friedrichshafen, Germany, August 29-September 1, 2002What's new at Eurobike 2002By Tim Maloney Now in its 11th year in Friedrichshafen, Germany and after a decade in cramped, funky old quarters, the Eurobike show moved in to a brand new show grounds, next to the airport and the HQ for Zeppelin airships. Sure there were some traffic glitches, but Messe Friedrichshafen head Rolf Mohne was quite pleased with the attendance. With 21,000 visitors in 2001, attendance was on the upswing this year. "We were up 10 percent for the first two days so that is positive," Mohne told Cyclingnews. With over 68,000 square feet of exhibition space spread out over eight brand new halls and 700 firms from over 25 countries exhibiting, Eurobike can rightly claim to be the largest and most successful bike show in Europe. Cyclingnews spent a few days at Eurobike to take a look at whats new and innovative in cycling products for 2003. This is the first in our series of in-depth 2002 trade show coverage, followed by EICMA Milano and Interbike Las Vegas. Tim Maloney's Eurobike 2002 Report Part 1
