Conti has created a unique new approach to for bicycle tires with the TPS, or Tire Positioning System. Product Manager Hardy Bolts explained to Cyclingnews that "as in motor racing, or motorcycles, Continental has created two different tires for the front and rear, with specific characteristics." The front tire, called 'Attack' is a 22mm diameter, 190g clincher with a smaller section for better aerodynamics and a tread pattern and activated silica rubber compound designed for better road feel and better cornering.

The rear tire is called "Force". it's 23mm diameter and 210 g clincher provides more power transfer and increased rider comfort, with a specific tread pattern and activated silica rubber compound that delivers more grip and tire life and is designed just for the rear tire. Both Attack and Force offer polyamide anti-puncture bands, with the rear tire having a double layer and they are not interchangeable. Conti's TPS, featuring the Attack and Force, two tubes and a jersey will be available in a special kit (pictured) next March.
