Toshiba Labor Day Weekend Races
Ft Lauderdale, August 31-September 2, 2002
The 2002 Toshiba Labor Day Weekend races marked the return of cycling to the city of Ft Lauderdale. The last race in the city of Ft Lauderdale was Tour of the Americas in the late 80's which was won by Andrea Tafi. That years event was also attended by Greg LeMond and Miguel Indurain. Ivan Franco, former ONCE professional, a Miami native one the points competition back in the 80's and also competed in this years event. Saturn-Timex rider Ivan Dominguez, winner of the recent New York City Championships, won the opening day criterium as well as the grand finale.
