Hopkins wins over three-man break

At the second day of the Festival of Speed, Jeff Hopkins of Jittery Joe's took the victory out of a three man break. The 120 kilometer race was shortened slightly due to impending thunderstorms. A three rider break containing Hopkins, Ivan Franco, and one other rider managed to stay away from a very motivated 7-Up Team, intent on bringing them back. However, in the end, the threesome stayed away with Hopkins taking top honors. With only the scraps left, Saturn's Mark McCormack led out teammate Ivan Dominguez for the field sprint win for fourth.
