Brandt wins 42nd Druivenkoers

Lotto's Christophe Brandt has won the 42nd edition of the Druivenkoers in Overijse. In a two man sprint, Brandt beat Vlaanderen-T Interim's Geoffrey Demeyere, with Marc Streel (Landbouwkrediet) finishing third, 1'25 back.

The race was held in difficult conditions due to intermittent rain. A group of 23 riders escaped after 43 kilometres, and by the time they reached the short laps at the end, they had 10 minutes on the peloton. Marc Streel tried a solo attack in Overijse, and was partially successful as only Brandt and Demeyere had the legs to chase him down. They did so and dropped him, with Brandt winning the sprint.
