Stage 5 - February 22: Solvang - Solvang (ITT), 15 mi / 24 km
The quaint Danish village of Solvang once again hosts the individual time trial stage of the Tour of California. This year's course is 15 miles long, just slightly longer than the 2007 individual time trial. It will take in the same challenging route which provided the highlight of last year's race.
Winding through some of the most beautiful areas of Central California, stiff winds, technical turns, and one short, steep climb will provide the perfect proving ground for the riders to test their skills at pacing, bike handling and power on one of the most decisive stages of the race.
