Stage 3 - September 3: Viveiro - Luarca, 153km
Though this stage contains no less than four category three altos it will not likely see a GC-favourite come out to play. Why? There is a serious mountain-top finish the following day. However, the stage could see the first successful escape of the 2007 Vuelta a Espaņa and a change of the Maillot Oro of overall race leader.
The finish in Luarca will be the fourth in the race's history; the last run into the Asturia city was sixty years ago when Italian Adolphe Deledda won.
