Tour of Britain - 2.3Great Britain, September 1-5, 2004Main Page Results Previous Stage Next Stage Stage 3 - September 3: Bakewell - Nottingham., 192kmBy Shane Stokes The 192.5 kilometre third stage starts at the Bakewell Agricultural Centre and heads through Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire on a mainly flat route. Just three category three climbs await the riders on this 192.1 kilometre course, the ascents coming at Wirksworth (11.9 km), Kettleby (167.7 km) and Upper Broughton (174.5 km). In order to spice things up, four mid-race sprints await. Gallops at Duffield (prime, 52.5 km), Derby (62.3 km), Loughborough (120.9 km) and Leicester (139.6 km) will pre-empt the main speedburst to the line in Nottingham. The final few hundred metres will be played out on the city's Victoria Embankment, with a bunch finish is the most likely outcome.
