August 24: Men's Sprint Semi-Finals

Bayley to meet the Bos

Ryan Bayley (Australia) and Theo Bos (Netherlands) each advanced through to the gold medal round in the men's sprint, beating their rivals in two successive rounds. Bayley showed exceptional speed to knock France's Laurent Gané from the final, producing an incredible effort to come from more than two bike lengths behind in the final lap and pass Gané in the closing metres.

Bos had no trouble disposing of Germany's Rene Wolff, setting up an exciting finale against Bayley. Wolff and Gané will dispute the bronze medal.
