Stage 6 : April 24 - Athens - Hiawassee/Young Harris, 206.4 km

Saturday April 24
Stage Six: Athens-Brassstown Bald / 206km

Starting in lovely Athens, the penultimate stage of the 04 Dodge Tour de Georgia travels due north 110km to the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia before hitting the 15km ascent to Hogpen Gap (1061m). More rollers across the beautiful Georgia countryside lead up to the dramatic finale of the ascent of Brassstown Bald Mtn., at 1426m., the highest point in Georgia. This is a steep, 10km climb to a mountaintop finish that could feature a head to head battle between Armstrong and Julich for race supremacy.
