Stage 6 - October 21: Port Fairy, 30 kms
Page wins after Hunt relegated

Isle of Wight youngster Keiran Page upstaged all the big guns in Stage 6, a 30 km kermesse in the sleepy Victorian hamlet, although his victory wasn't without controversy. Page - riding for the Bendigo Building Industry team, which is made up of members of the British Olympic Track Endurance squad - was actually second over the finish line, but was awarded victory by race commissaires after they ruled Page's British counterpart Jeremy Hunt (Malaysia Airlines) had interfered with his line in the closing metres.
Hunt accepted the decision, but was none too happy about it to say the least. "I'm disappointed they (commissaires) reversed the result, but it will only make me more determined to do well in the rest of the stages," Hunt said.

In the morning circuit race at Port Fairy, spectators were treated to a fast and furious pace as riders blew out a few cobwebs. A hard working group of five riders, including Page, Hunt, Paul Manning (Bendigo Building Industry), Brett Aitken (Rio Coffee) and Milton Wynants (Echuca Moama) broke away from the field early into the 12 laps and were never headed.
As listed above is how they officially finished - once the commissaires had overruled the judges that is! It was Page's first ever win in open company and his first this season - highlighting his maiden voyage to Australia.
"I loved this country before today, I love it even more now," Page said. Page is a raw 20-year-old and is still an amateur, but he's also a rider with a big future.
