Well I thought I was moving along well today but Botero soon changed my perception of my performance. I admire that guy. To take Armstrong on in a ITT chez le Tour is something we have not seen in a long time. Is it this the first sign of weakness in Lance? Will he finally be pushed all the way to Paris? I still say Lance is the man and will show his legs in the mountains but it is also pleasing, as a professional cyclist, to see the guy is beatable.
I had a great surprise yesterday after the stage finish in Plouay with the arrival of my wife, Sharni and little girl Tahlia. The few weeks away was really starting to be too much. They head back to Nice tomorrow but will be back to cheer me through the Alps with my parents who will make their first trip to France.
There is a massive Aussie connection following the tour this year and not many kilometres go by without seeing the Australian Flag. This and all the emails and calls I am receiving make motivation a non existent problem no matter how tired and sore the legs can be.
Thanks guys,
Brad
