Results and Reports from the USAPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to cyclingnews 2004 Tour de ColumbusColumbus, TX, August 20 - 22, 2004Ellis time trials to overall successIn the Pro-1-2 Category Brian Ellis of Gulf Coast Cycling Association presented by Toyota Trucks used an awesome performance in the 2nd stage, a 17 mile individual time trial to pave way for the overall win in the 2nd annual Dairy Queen Tour of Columbus in Texas this past weekend. "I had super legs today," was Ellis' comment after the time trial where he beat Bain Foote by 17 seconds, and Scott Henry of Team Lucky Lounge by 26 seconds. After finishing in the pack of the stage 1 - 85 mile road race Ellis used the TT victory to go into the final stage 3 - 90 minute criterium with a 33 second lead on Foote in the overall classification. Both Gulf Coast and Lucky Lounge out of Austin controlled the criterium and reeled in the only 'true' break away of the day. Ellis' performance in Columbus boosted his confidence going into the Estes Park Stage Race in Boulder, Colorado.
