The High Uintas Classic is a Utah tradition with a first stage up the Mirror Lake Highway from Kamas, up and over Bald Mountain Pass (elevation over 10,000 feet), traditionally finishing on the outskirts of Evanston, Wyoming. This year, however, the course was shortened from the usual 80 miles, down to 50 due to highway construction. The shortened course may have worked in favor of Cody Peterson who won the stage and effectively the race with a strong solo break. Global Phone Sales/ Healthy Choice rider Sandy Perrins was "best of the rest" in 2nd place, outgunning many of Utah's strongest riders. Day two began with a 10km time trial. Global Phone Sales/ Healthy Choice TT big guns Gardie Jackson and Sandy Perrins managed 1st and 3rd respectively, and teammate Marc Yap also busted out an impressive top five finish. Sunday afternoon was the traditional downtown Evanston criterium, won by Clayton Barrows with Kirk Eck of Global Phone Sales/ Healthy Choice in 4th.
