McCann dominates, Griffin in yellow

Irish time trial champion David McCann was head and shoulders above the rest of the field in this morning's individual time trial in the Credit Union Rás Mumhan, finishing 41 seconds clear of his Earl of Desmond team-mate Vincent Gleeson and a further second ahead of Paul Griffin. Eugene Moriarty (Cycleways.com), Rory Wyley (Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers) and Ed Perry (Surry League) were a handful of seconds further back.

This morning's result means that Griffin and Moriarty are only separated by 18 hundredths of a second in the general classification as the race embarks on the Cahirsiveen Credit Union stage, a 60 mile loop of south Kerry.

Griffin will wear the yellow jersey of race leader, with Moriarty poised to strike. John Dempsey (Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers) is 17 seconds back in third.
