As expected, the flat sixth stage between Civitade Camuno to Gerengazo over 159 km didn't give any surprises: yesterday everyone in the Giro forecasted a sprinter to win, and that's what happened. Bruno Bertolini (IMA Moro Brugnotto Zottarelli GS Spercenigo), brother of Denis, professional rider with Acqua & Sapone, won a very big sprint with a lot of riders present.

The pink jersey didn't change owner, with Alessandro Bertuola (Ima Moro Brugnotto Zottarelli) keeping the race leadership.

There were several attempts made to breakaway during the stage, and the final escape was the most interesting with Sanderson, Werner, Maserati, De Nobile, Colli, Sharkpeta, Da Dalto, Buoso, Bellin and Rasioni, but it was nullified with 12 km to go. The main result of all the attacking was to produce another high average speed for the race.

Tomorrow's seventh stage is from Lamporecchio to Cerbaia over 168 km. This stage will take place in Tuscany, a land with a great cycling tradition. In this stage there is the tough San Baronto climb, well known to many professional and amateur riders, which will be crossed four times. It's expected that the GC will be shaken up once again.
