There was a slight headwind against the competitors but O'Loughlin a noted tt exponent showed his grit by clawing back time on the overall leader, Russell Downing. Russell is still in pole position but his advantage is now down to a mere five seconds with this afternoon's criterium in Killarney. Overall the top three on General Classification are separated by a tantalising 10 seconds. Dean Downing the winner of the first stage is third overall.
