Today's 4th stage of the Giro della Friuli started in Udine and finished just out of Trieste. There was a tough climb at 60km and another with 25km to go. Brendan Cato struggled on the 1st climb but all the others got back to the front group until about 40km to go when the pace went on and splintered the field. Lee Godfrey got himself into the front group, which split, again over the climb with a group of 6 getting clear. Bruce McIntosh finished 12th and Lee finished 21st with Slovak rider Martin Cerepan taking the win.

Dave McPartland didn't start today after crashing yesterday.
