The 1st stage was over 153km and all flat, promising to be one for the sprinters. It started in Martellago and finished in Azzano Decimo with 3 laps of a 15km circuit. The guys rode well all day covering breaks and helping Aaron Kemps to make good position for the sprint and were rewarded with Aaron taking his 3rd win of the season, this time by a narrow margin from Italian, Danilo Napoletano. The win takes Aaron to within a second of the race lead and to the lead of the points and the leading foreigner competitions.
