German cyclist Udo Bolts, from Team Telekom, was the winner of the Swiss race of Gran Premio of Gippigen, when he easily beat ina long sprint, Moldavian Andrei Tchmil. In this way Bolts achieves the first win of the season, with a time of 4:37:07 for the 196 kms., a second faster than Tchmil, who marked the peloton's time. The 30 year old German, showed his experience, when with a little less than a kilometer to go he surprised with an attack other riders like Tchmil, Konyshev, Dia Grande and Viatcheslav Ekimov, which came in in that order behind Bolts
