Race Report
Run on a hilly circuit of 19.6km covered 10 times, the GP de
Gippingen attracted most of those due to start the Tour de
Romandie the next day. A long early break by Petito, Ugrumov
and Vatteroni was initially joined by Chiappucci and then by
the rest of the peloton. Ten kilometres from the finish on a slight descent
Riis, Olano and Guidi broke free. Guidi sprinted clear 300m from the line.
