1996 Results

The Klauterkoers Sweikhuizen in held in the south of Limburg, near Geleen. The area is just north of the main roads used by the Amstel Gold Race.

Klauteren means "to climb" so you can guess what's meant by this title. The race is a preparation race for the national championships next Sunday in Europe. Mainly dutch riders participate in this race and it is in the vicinity of the parcours in Meersen.

The teammates Dekker and Boogerd reached the finish together. Boogerd (already sure of a place in the Tour de France) gave the victory to Dekker. "Sometimes you have to give a victory away. Especially when you need somebody's help within a few weeks". Dekker isn't sure yet about a start in the Tour de France.
