Klauterkoers Sweikhuizen - Netherlands

June 19 1996

Klauterkoers Sweikhuizen in the South of Limburg (Netherlands)

Klauteren means "to climb" so you can guess what's meant by this title. The race is a preparation race for the national championships next Sunday in Europe. Mainly dutch riders participate in this race, but also Olaf Ludwig (ger-tel) and several belgian riders were present.

Striking detail was the following, while the assistent of Jan Raas of Rabobank, Adrie van Houwelingen, was riding his car on the track and mean while was talking with his cyclist Koos Moerenhout he touched his cyclist Aart Vierhouten with his bumper.

Aart Vierhouten crashed on the left side of the road on his elbow and was taking Raymond Meijs of Foreldorado Golff with him in his fall. Raymond Meijs has trouble with his back, his pelvis and is suffering from several grazes.
