Description

Wind, speed and danger will be combined all throughout the day ending with an arrival en masse in Zaragoza. Almost always the riders usually arrive in the capital of Aragón riding quickly and before the predicted timetable. Dizzy speed along the streets and the most logical thing is that the teams with sprinters want to take control of the race. Those who had suffered with the proceedings at the mountains can suffer now with the proceedings of the flat route. For the last three years the streets of Zaragoza have been a relevant finish. In Vuelta 99 the distance to cover was similar to this year: 183 kilometres and the fight among the riders was remarkable. Serguei Outshako was the winner that year riding at an average speed of 41,644 kilometres per hour in front of Roscioli, Durand, Anguita and Casagranda, but a group arrived 28 seconds later, another numerous group 7 minutes later and the Peloton 13:36. Last year, the 131,5 kilometres were covered at an average speed of 47,934 kilometres an hour and the winner was Alessandro Petachi leaving Lombardi and Casagranda behind him.
