Møller wins Subida Naranco
Danish cyclist Klaus Møller (Milaneza-MSS) has beaten Oscar Sevilla
(Kelme) in the 35th Subida Naranco, that finished atop a first category
climb. Møller and Sevilla attacked from a group of 14 riders that had
escaped in the decisive section of the race, which was conducted at
a high average speed.
Sevilla led the breakaways over the first category Alto de la Manzaneda
(km 148), which was followed by a descent and then the final six kilometre
climb of the Alto del Naranco. He and Møller took the initiative on
that climb, but Sevilla's hopes for a victory were dashed when he broke
his chain near the finish and had to chase on his spare bike.
