After a long escape of about 100 kilometers, Capacho, one of the most important domestiques of his team took a comfortable advantage of 3'04 at the finish of the stage. The group rode peacefully, and the most important difficulties of the stage were the mountain climbs and the intermediate sprints, categories that are not decided yet. The stage passed near Barichara, the town where race leader Buenahora was born, a lot of people went to cheer their idol along the road. The general classification stayed the same as at the beginning of the stage. After yesterday's crisis of Javier Zapata, Buenahora has a confortable advantage of 3.43 over Juan Diego Ramírez, second in the GC. Tomorrow the Vuelta will arrive in Tunja for the last mountain stage, before a transition stage and then the final individual time trial in Bogota. The Vuelta is coming to its conclusion and as it seems nobody can beat Buenahora, but it is important to be humble, as his manager Gianni Savio said. Stage Description The 12th stage of the 51st Vuelta a Colombia-Telecom is between Bucaramanga and El Socorro in the department of Santander. The stage is considered a medium mountain stage, with three climbs. Alto de Curos (km 30), Alto de Chiflas (km 66) and Alto de Aratoca (km 75) of third, first and second category respectively. It also has three intermediate sprints. The stage has a natural attraction the Chicamocha River Canyon.
