Stage 3 - August 31: Saint-Germain-du-Puy - La Chapelle-Saint-Ursin, 97 km

By James Victor, AIS women's coach

Carpe-Diem controlled the pace during the morning stage, trying to save some energy for the important time trial. A few attacks, and with plenty of wind, changing with the direction of the race, a few opportunities went begging, whilst the peloton consolidated.

A late attack inside the last 10km by Slovakian rider Zlatica Gavlakova (ile de France) gave her the stage win comfortably by over 1'00 on the main group lead in by consistent bunch sprinter Rochelle Gilmore, with great assistance from team-mate Naomi Williams.
