The first night of the Six Days of Grenoble saw French pair, Jerome Neuville and Andy Flickinger in the leading position overall. They finished on the same lap as Robert Sassone and Damien Pommerau, Spaniards Joan Llaneras and Isaac Galvez, and French-Danish combination Nicolas Reynaud and Tayeb Braikia.

Despite winning the last madison of the night, Jacky Durand (Fra) and Lorenzo Lapage (Bel) are in 10th place overall, two laps down on the rest.

Sprint competition

The sprinters have their own competition in Grenoble, and after the first day it was World Sprint Champion Jan Van Eyden (Ger) at the top of the standings. Olympic champion Florian Rousseau took the Keirin in front of Jens Fiedler and Arnaud Tournant, while Arnaud Duble won the espoirs (U23) sprint.
