Even those few young pro's from 3rd division Servisco & Legia-Bazyliszek, or riders riding usually in the West (for instance Szmyd in Italy or Krupa in France could do little riding in smaller numbers against this very strong team. Team Pacific took two medals, and there was a very good ride from another amateur espoir team KTK Winiary from Kalisz that should also be noticed - three men in the top10, with Mateusz Mroz (nephew of well known professional team sponsor - Wojciech Mroz) taking silver. Results - 168.3 kms1. Daniel Okrucinski (Pacific Nestle Torun) 4.10.07 (40.37 km/h) 2. Mateusz Mroz (KTK Winiary Kalisz) 0.08 3. Krzyf Czynszak (Pacific Nestle Torun) 2.08 4. Racing started very fast (around 45 km/h) for the first couple of laps, lots of attacks, but the decisive one was made by Piotr Wadecki from Mroz-Supradyn & his former teammate Zbigniew Piatek, now riding for MAT Ceresit CCC. It happened on the 14th lap, and at the end of it they had less than 15" advantage on a bigger group. However, it was soon a bit more than 1'00 at the end of lap 15 to a group of dozen riders lead by Zbigniew Spruch (Lampre) riding hard but with some 4 other Mroz & at least 2 MAT riders right behind him. Eventually Wadecki left his breakaway companion on the last hill with some 2 kms to go, and won by few seconds. Third was Dariusz Wojciechowski (also from Mroz) after a very even and dramatic sprint battle with Wojciech Pawlak from Atlas on the last straight. Results - 244.8 kms1.
