Day 4 - July 28

Now Villa/Quaranta take the lead

A very tight battle is emerging in the Italian "6 Giorni delle Rose", with the top two teams Martinello/Collinelli and Villa/Quaranta continuing to push each other. After night four, Villa and Quaranta have a very slender advantage. Risi and Betschart moved back up to third after a strong performance during the night. They were responsible for marking Martinello in the final chase, and would not let him and Collinelli get away.

Five teams are still on the same lap, although the top two have a bit of a buffer now. The race is an important one in terms of Italian Olympic selection for the madison, and will go a long way in deciding who is to partner Martinello in Sydney.
