Stage 21 - September 17 : Madrid-Madrid ITT, 38 km

The last stage has the potential to be quite exciting in terms of deciding the overall classification. No traditional parade for the sprinters, it is instead a testing 38 kilometre individual time trial around the Spanish capital of Madrid. Although a winner should have emerged before this point, the stage may be crucial in determining the minor placings. It is not dead flat, but is by no means a mountain test.
